To prepare the students for the 21st century and to adapt them to the latest ICT friendly education which will develop their knowledge, skills and abilities to fit globally, Daffodil International University distributed 520 Laptop at free of cost  among the students in the eighth phase at its continuous process of Laptop Project on January 11, 2014 at DIU Auditorium.

Prof. Dr. Aminul Islam, Founder Vice Chancellor and Emeritus Professor of Daffodil International University was present on the Laptop Distribution Program as the chief guest. Presided over by Prof Dr. Engr. A K M Fazlul Hoque, Registrar, the function was also addressed by Prof. Dr. M. Golam Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, Prof. Dr. Golam Maowla Choudhury, Controller of Examinations, Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director (Student Affairs) and Md. Mohin Chowdhury, Sr. Accounts Officer of Daffodil International University.

Daffodil International University has taken a gigantic initiative of “One Student: One Laptop” program which is one step a head for digital Bangladesh. Every student admitted into Daffodil International University from Summer Semester-2010 and onward is getting a Laptop at free of cost. The Laptop will help the students to equip themselves with proper technical knowledge so that they can survive and secure respectable place in the society. Through this initiative DIU students will get the opportunity to implement digital Bangladesh concept.

Addressing as the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Aminul Islam, Founder Vice Chancellor and Emeritus Professor of Daffodil International University said, It was a long cherished dream of the university authority to implement the project “One Student-One Laptop” with the vision of becoming a Digital University in line with the policy of Digital Bangladesh. He also said, as an essential part and contemporary demand of modern education, DIU has focused on ICT automation facilities for students and employees since its inception. He urged the students to be a potential ICT skilled graduate to contribute to the nation.   It is envisaged that DIU graduates can stand out by competing with other graduates both nationally and globally with their skill that they will acquire from this university. He wished that the initiate to provide a laptop for each student free of cost will be fruitful and successful with the mission of forgoing a digital society that will ensure an ICT driven knowledge- based nation.
