First Idea Round of Idea Innovation Contest for Daffodil Laptop (II4DL) was held at DIU

The First Idea Round of Idea Innovation Contest for Daffodil Laptop (II4DL) was held 0n 01 July 2011 at DIU Auditorium from 10:00am to 02:00pm.

Career Development center (CDC) of Daffodil International University organized the contest. A total of 75 students divided into 19 teams participated in the contest. Prof. Dr. Syed Akter Hossain, convener of II4DL started the program at 10.30am. The contest continued up to 2.30pm.

Through this competition, students from different departments participated in the form of team and delivered their presentation on their ideas of using Daffodil Laptop.

This contest intends to promote team work and exchange of business and technology knowledge, raise awareness about business technology education particularly among the young generation who could benefit from it and contribute to the country’s economy as future leaders.

Summer Fruit Festival-2011 held at Daffodil International University (DIU) on Thursday, June 30, 2011. Students of 24th Batch (Wings Xpo) of BBA Program of Daffodil International University organized the day long Festival at DIU Auditorium. Professor Dr. M.Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University inaugurated the carnival as the chief guest. The inaugural session was also addressed among others by Professor Dr. S.M. Mahabubul Haque Majumder, Dean Faculty of Science and IT, Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Dean Faculty of Business and Economics, Professor Dr. M. Golam Rahman,Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, Professor Dr. Rafiqul Islam, Faculty of Business and Economics, Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Registrar and Ms. Shakila Sarwar, Lecturer &  Convener of the Summer Fruit Festival-2011. Fifteen stalls of Students of different departments of Daffodil International University participated with various country fruits in different names Like Fruits Cottage, Bangaliana, Nir, Asharer Fal Samahar, IDSA, Deshi Fal Ghar, Fruits Park, Fruits Court, Fruits Corner,  . It was a gala gathering of students, faculty members, officials and others. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. M. Lutfar Rahaman visited various stalls and interacted with students in a festive mode after inauguration.

As per declaration of the Hon’ble Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University Mr. Md. Sabur Khan four best stalls were awarded cash money prizes.

Project Fair-2011″ held at DIU

Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University Prof. Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Dr. S.M. Mahbubul Haque Majumder, Dean, FSIT and Professor Dr. Yousuf M. Islam are seen to visit a project paricipated in the Project Fair-2011

A project fair was held today on June 25, 2011 at Daffodil International University ( DIU)  organized by r57 shell Human Resource Development Institute at the DIU Auditorium. Altogether 13 teams participated in the fair. Seven projects were presented by senior students with mostly web-based projects. Six projects were presented by junior students who are now in L1T2. These projects were all Excel based. The students used Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) with Excel to produce complete applications. Prof. Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman,Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. S. M. Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Dean, FSIT, Prof. Dr. Yousuf M. Islam, Executive Director, HRDI attended the fair among other teachers and distributed the prizes among the winners.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman was very pleased to see students of first year completing in-course projects. He appreciated the high quality work done by the senior students. He said that students learn a lot by doing projects in their courses. He discussed the benefit of giving in-course projects to students. In each category, Champion and Runners up prize was given.

The members of the winner team of Champion in Junior Group comprised: Amir Hossai, Iqbal Hossain, Lora Annana Bishwas, Rafia Ferdousy, Gobinda Karmakar of the department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).

The members of the winner team of Champion in Senior Group comprised:   Imran Hossain, Umam Mustain and Mujib La Sanny of department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).

“See The Difference”- 2nd DIU Fruit Festival

Dear all,

On 14 th June 2009, DIU  experience 2nd DIU fruit festival organized by Daffodil International University Sports Club (DIUSPC) held at DIU auditorium (Prince Plaza). It was a huge croud at the festival. 19 stall and almost 100+ perticipants participate at 2nd DIU fruit festival. The Slogan was, ” See The Difference”. The reality came when the festival open at 10.00 am by Professor Aminul Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University. Stalls presenting  different seasonal local and continental fruits along with different dishes made by fruits. Including fruit juice, pickle, fruit salad, faluda, castard, vorta, lunch item, and many more.

Crowd experience not only the taste of the foods but also a good  get together and bliss of youth.

The objective of this program not only limited to the festival only but also to inform the young generation about their culture,introducing with the local fruits, and spot their prospect, what actually they can do if they been together.

Our Honorable Chairman, BOG, Mr. Sabur Khan visited the fair around at 11.30 am morning. He declared a financial incentive for the best three stall just after visited the fair.

A team of three faculty memebers , me , Siddiqur Rahman from Faculty of Business and Economics, Mr. Mustafizur Rahman Sameen from English department, and Shamim Al Mamun from Science department coordinate the whole program. A good number of volunteers (12) and staff from different level , and development officers support the whole day long festival from their individual position.

Three judges made their judgement in different criteria to find the best 3 stalls. After their judgement they hand over the result to the organizers.

During the fair a number of electronic and print media cover the festival news and take the interview of the organizer regarding their experience and the reason they organize this kind of festival.

Head  of the  Department, faculty members from different faculty and administrative officers visited the fair and had their lunch at the festival, they also bought fruits for them and for their family members. Students participates and visit the festival  with enthusiasm and very much excited. they also bought the fruits and other dishes made by fruits. A wide variations of juice was the major attraction at the festival.

The fair finished at 4.00 pm and the price giving cerimony started at 4.15 pm. Honourable Vice Chancellor, Professor Aminul Islam hand over the crest and incentive to the best three stall. BANGALIANA the champion of last Food festival again win the championship crest at the 2nd DIU fruit festival. Congartulation them again.

At the end Vice Chacellor sir made his valuable  speech to the participants and students and gave thanks to all who worked to made the festival success.

Now you can see the difference, because seen is beliving.

DIU organized it’s 2nd food Festival today 14th June, 2009  in DIU Auditorium where 19 stall with 100 + students participtated , Bangaliana stall no. 10-11 achieved the best stall award. DIU student showed all local fruits collected from various part of the country. Hon’ble VC innuagrated the program.
