Collaboration with National Central University (NCU)

DIU started an active collaboration with National Central University (NCU) Taiwan  through a Memorandum of Understanding between both universities. Dr. Chien-wen Mark Shen, Director of YSBC & Associate Professor of Department of Business Administration, National Central University Taiwan and Prof. Dr. S. M. Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Acting Vice-Chancellor of Daffodil International University (DIU) signed the agreement on behalf of the respected University recently at DIU premises. After the signing ceremony, Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, BoT of DIU presented him a Token of Appreciation for his positive initiative. Dr. Chien-wen conducted a seminar for the graduating students and faculty members of DIU to pursue their Ph.D Degree under scholarships in NCU, Taiwan from 2019.

Assam University signs MoU with Dhaka’s Daffodil International University

Assam University, Silchar took another step in advancing its collaboration with other universities worldwide when it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a leading private university in Dhaka, the Daffodil International University, on Thursday evening.

The MoU was signed in Dhaka in presence of Assam University, Silchar’s Vice Chancellor, Dr Dilip Chandra Nath and Pro Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University, Prof SM Mehbub Ul Haque Mazumder.

Daffodil International University, a private institution with 30,000 students, has collaborations with many other universities all across the globe.

The signing of MoU by Assam University, Silchar with Daffodil International University will help in teacher exchange and student exchange programmes, internship programme, joint conferences and above all, exchanging of ideas and thoughts in the field of research, felt Vice Chancellor of Assam University, Silchar, Dr Dilip Chandra Nath.

It may be mentioned that after taking charge as by Dr Dilip Chandra Nath as Vice Chancellor of Assam University, Silchar two years back, signing of MoUs with other universities outside India has taken a quantum leap for advancements in teaching as well as research.

MoU has also been signed with Japan’s two universities, Gifu University and Shizuoka University, Thailand’s Mahachulalongornraja Vidyalaya University in Bangkok, Indonesia’s University of Indonesia and Bangladesh’s Shahjalal University of Science and Tecnology, situated at Sylhet, in the past two years.

Dr Dilip Chandra Nath after signing this MoU with Daffodil International University based at Dhaka, while expressing satisfaction, said, “Collaborating with these top notch universities can take Assam University, Silchar in the right direction. Times have changed, and so also the need of the hour is to share thoughts and ideas which can be beneficial for students as well as teachers of both sides.”

He added, “Students and researchers of our universities can go there and garner knowledge and learn new things, likewise, their counterparts too from those universities can come here and get enlightened.”

Under this mutual agreement, both the universities will exchange students, faculty members in Summer & Winter School Program, internship placement, joint conference and so on. After the signing ceremony, Deans & Head of different departments discussed the possible prospects with the delegation for successful implementation of the agreement in coming semesters.
Earlier the delegation from Japan University of Economics, Japan visited over all infrastructural establishments, technological, lab and accommodation facilities of the permanent campus of Daffodil International University at Ashulia and planted two saplings at the campus premises. Daffodil International University introduces ‘Khondoker Abu Talha Memorial Courage Award’ for Journalists

To encourage the spirit of bravery among Bangladeshi Journalists, Khondoker Abu Talha Memorial Foundation and Daffodil International University are going to introduce ‘Khondoker Abu Talha Memorial Courage Award’ for the Journalists (Print & Electronic Media) of Bangladesh from now in every year. In this regard a  a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today on 24 July, 2018 at conference room of Daffodil International University.

According to the agreement, in every year Tk. 1 Lac will be awarded to a journalist (print & electronic media) for his courageous reporting and contribution in Journalism sector.  In this regards a jury board consists of country’s renowned senior journalists and academician will nominate a Journalist’s name from print and electronic media for the said award.
It may be mentioned that, Khondoker Abu Talha Jubayer, Former student of CSE Department of Daffodil International University who was stabbed to death by muggers in broad day-light while he attempted to save a neighbor school teacher from the snatchers on K M Das Lane on October 08, 2017. Commemorating in honor of the great sacrifice and courage shown by Khondoker Abu Talha, his father Mr. Abu Reaz Md. Nuruddin Khondoker and Daffodil International University was founded Khondoker Abu Talha Memorial Foundation. From now this foundation is Introducing ‘Khondoker Abu Talha Memorial Courage Award’ for the Journalists (Print & Electronic Media) of Bangladesh in every year. It also noted that Khondoker Abu Talha was achieved ‘Faraz Hossen Courageous Award-2017’.

DIU signs MoU with BAEC

Daffodil International University (DIU) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) for cooperation and strengthening education and research in the field of nuclear science and engineering and related programmes. The MoU signing ceremony was held on April 25, 2018 at the conference room of BAEC, says a press release.
Mahabubul Haque, Chairperson, BAEC and Prof Dr Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, VC, DIU signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.
Under this agreement, BAEC will allow undergraduate and graduate students as well as teachers of Nuclear Engineering and related subjects of DIU for research work on relevant topics at BAEC under the joint supervision of BAEC scientists, engineers and academic staff of the related Department of DIU.

MOU between DIU and Al-Qlalam University.

To enhance academic, educational, scientific & technological skills and students exchange cooperation between Al-Qlalam University, Katsina, Nigeria and Daffodil International University (DIU), a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today at the conference room of Al-Qlalam University.

Professor Shehu Garki Ado, Vice Chancellor, Al-Qalam University, Katsina and Professor Dr. Yousuf M. Islam, Vice Chancellor, DIU signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institution. Mr. Mohamed Emran Hossain, Director (Administration) DIU and distinguished high officials from Al-Qlalam University were present at the MoU signing ceremony.

10 MOUs signed in AUAP-IAUP Conference in Indonesia

Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, DIU joined the 1 st AUAP and IAUP Joint International Conference and the 33rd AUAP Annual Conference during July 9-12, 2018 in the University of Surabaya (UBAYA), Surabaya City, Indonesia. He Chaired Internationalization Indicator for AUAP Quality Assurance (QA) Discussion session of the AUAP QA Team, AUAP Board during the conference.

Ten bilateral agreements (MOU) between DIU and some reputed foreign universities including Australia, Canada, Georgia, the Philippines, Azerbaijan and Ghana were signed on 11th July 2018 during the occasion. Mr. Khan, on DIU’s behalf signed the agreements with his counter parts, respectively.

The great outcomes of the discussion and MOUs between DIU and other international universities are to initiate: student and faculty exchange, summer school, faculty training, short visits, dual degrees, credit transfer, joint research, scholarship, etc. in coming days.

With the theme “Developing the Sustainability of Higher Education Institutions in the Digital Era”, the conference gathered university leaders, academicians, researchers, and practitioners worldwide who are devoted to exchange and share the best practices of HEIs in implementing various innovative programs.

Daffodil International University signed MoU with Universiti Malaysia Perlis at 12th AUPF 2013

Daffodil International University (DIU) signed a bilateral Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) on International Partnership Programmes with Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) on October 08, 2013 at the 12th Asian University President’s Forum 2013 held at Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Langkawi, Malaysia.

Brigadier General Datuk Professor Dr. Kamarudin Hussin, Vice- Chancellor, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) and Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions. DYTM Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra, Crown Prince of Perlis & Chancellor UniMAP, Raja Puan Muda, Crown Princess of Perlis, Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor and Mr. Emran Hossain, Director (Planning & Development) of Daffodil International University and other high officials of AUPF were present at the signing ceremony.

This MoU aims and form of co-operation on: Exchange students, Exchange Faculty Members, Exchange in Research, Twinning Programmes and Centers of Excellence. Through these MoU, DIU students will get the opportunity to enjoy lot of international collaboration such as branch campuses, cross-border collaborative arrangements, programs for international students, establishing English-medium programs and degrees

Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees represented Daffodil International University and presented its views on the development of higher education in Bangladesh, the experiences of the university in developing undergraduate and post graduate degrees. Around 100 top ranked University Presidents from Asia joined this great gathering.
