DIU delegation left for Japan to attend SBFA 2013


A delegation from Daffodil International University (DIU) left for Japan today to attend the Social Business Forum in Asia 2013 as a part of Bangladeshi delegation lead by Professor Muhammad Yunus. The Asian Forum will take place from 27 to 29 July 2013 at three different cities Osaka, Kyoto and Fukuoka in Japan.

The DIU team will be the proud presenter of the Youth Session, where Mr Masud Ibn Rahman, Head Social Business Cell of DIU and Kazi Mesbah Ur Rahman, President, Social Business Students Forum and Student of BBA at DIU will deliver their presentation.Prof Dr. Muhammad Yunus will speak on Social Business Movement in Asia, its problems and prospects in this movement.

Most of the Asian Countries including Bangladesh will join this forum .All the Social Business stakeholders including academician, business people, political leaders, social activist and celebrities will join this prestigious platform of Social Business.

The organizer of this event is the Yunus & Shiiki Social Business Research Centre, Kyushu University Japan. Dr. Ashir Ahmed (Associate Professor, Khyushu University) Prof Masaharu Okada (Executive Director Grameen Creative Lab@Kyushu University) Prof Hiroto Yasuura (Head Yunus & Shiiki Social Business Research Centre) are the patrons of the event.

Daffodil International University delegation also attended the global Social Business Summit 2012 with Prof Yunus at Vienna Austria.

11 DIU students left for Korea to join Asian Summer Program (ASP) 2013

11 students of Daffodil International University (DIU) left for Korea to join a three week credit-based program offering innovative prospect of Asia titled Asian Summer Program (ASP) 2013 under Dongseo Asian Initiative Program supervised by Professor Dr. Yousuf M. Islam recently. In the first phase 4 students left for Korea on July 03, 2013. After the long tireless effort of the authority another seven students got their visa and finally they also flown to Korea.

The program named Asian Summer Program (ASP) is a three week credit-based program offering innovative prospect of Asia. It is designed to provide an International Training in Korea for the students, with the aim of building Cross-culture communication, Personal soft skill development, Confidence building, Career enhancement as well as mutual friendship among the participating countries. Students will have the chance to adjust these two courses which are going to obtain at Korea with their regular courses. There will be 350 students from 25 universities in 10 different countries in this program. The Program starts at July 8, 2013 at the very beautiful location of Busan, Korea. Participating students will experience a highly international environment, allowing them to learn directly about the diverse cultures of Asia. Students will have the chance to adjust these courses with their regular courses.

To become more attractive for foreign students and researchers and to increase its appeal as a world centre for excellence, DIU has joined its name in great initiative named “Dongseo Asian Initiative Program” taken by the Dongseo University, Korea.

DIU donated at Kidney Foundation Hospital and Research Institute

Daffodil International University has donated Ten Lacks Taka (Tk.10, 00,000/=) at Kidney Foundation Hospital and Research Institute today on 15th July 2013 as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities.

BRE students of DIU visited REHAB Summer Fair’2013

The students of the Department of Real Estate (BRE) of Daffodil International University (DIU) paid a visit toa promotional campaign “REHAB Summer Fair’2013”held at Hotel Ruposhi Bangla on June 27, 2013.
Mr. Mohammed Sakhawat Hossain, ACMA, Assistant Professor & Head, Dept. of Real Estate lead the team. Through this visit the students gathered practical knowledge about real estate business, Shared and exchanged their views with real estate professionals at the fair which will help them in their career planning. For the betterment of the students of Real Estate Department, such type of campaign will be arranged regularly in every REHAB Fair with the help of DIU authority.

Tree Plantation Campaign” at DIU Permanent Campus

Department of Real Estate of Daffodil International University organized a “Tree Plantation Campaign” at DIU Permanent Campus, Ashulia, Dhaka on June 20, 2013. Professor Dr. M. Mizanur Rahman, Treasurer, DIU, Dr. Mostafa Kamal, Advisor, Dept. of Real Estate and Mohammed Sakhawat Hossain, ACMA, Assistant Professor & Head, Dept. of Real Estate were present at the campaign.

The campaign was also graced by a foreign guest from Japan named Mr. Takayoshi Suzuki, Social Worker and Friend of Liberation War 1971. Considering the importance of trees for our lives and to perform social responsibility the campaign has been initiated from the Real Estate Department. Almost forty different types of fruits, flowers, and wood trees were planted there. Students were not only restricted to tree plantation but also enjoyed with lots of fun. Everybody was in festive mood at the permanent campus.

MoU signed Between DIU and CTO Forum Bangladesh

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Daffodil International University and CTO Forum Bangladesh today at the Conference Room of Daffodil International University.

Through this agreement the students of Daffodil International University will get the opportunity to gain knowledge about the latest innovation and development of ICT. On the other hand, CTO Forum Bangladesh will get the opportunity to implement their long cherished initiative of forming ICT knowledge based society. Under this agreement, Daffodil International University and CTO Forum Bangladesh will jointly work together in research project, workshop and development of innovative ideas. Beside these, the students of Daffodil International University will get the opportunity for internship in different organizations through CTO Forum.

Voluntary Blood Donation Program Quantum Foundation and Daffodil International University jointly organized a Blood Donation program at University premises on May 28, 2013 holding the slogan “Save blood, you may need it tomorrow”. Prof. Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University inaugurated the blood donation program as the chief guest. Prof. Dr. M. Mizanur Rahman, Treasurer, Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Registrar, Dr. Touhid Bhuyan, Associate Professor, Mr. Md. Anowar Habib Kazal, Assistant Director (Public Relations) of Daffodil International University and Mr. Sheikh Md. Foisal, Coordinator, Quantum Blood Donation Program, Mr. Asaduzzaman Khan, Co- Quainter, Mr. Motasim Billah Mamun, Co-Quainter along with other high officials of Voluntary Blood Donation Program Quantum Foundation were present and contributed the blood donation program.

Orientation for newly joined faculty members held at DIU

The orientation program for the newly joined Faculty members of Daffodil International University was held today on May 18, 2013 at the Conference Room of the university. Presided over by Prof. Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, Daffodil International University the orientation function was also addressed by Emeritus Professor Dr. Aminul Islam, Professor Dr. M. Mizanur Rahman, Treasurer, Prof. Dr. S. M. Mahbub-Ul- Haque Majumder, Dean, Faculty of Science and Information Technology, Prof. Rafiqul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics, Prof. Dr. Shah Md. Keramot Ali, Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences. Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Registrar conducted thr orientation program.

Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, Daffodil International University welcomed the newly joined faculty members and urged to make the best use of the facilities and resources provided by the university and build the students to fit for face the challenges of the 21st century. He said that Daffodil International University is doing well in all respects. Commitment, Transparency and Quality of Education made the university renowned. DIU provides its faculty members best available resources to pursue their teaching methods and techniques and hone their skills.

Urging the faculty members to be a complete human being and ideal teacher Professor   Dr. Aminul Islam said that three major things-discipline, honesty and quality can make a life success. To be a complete citizen of the country he advised the faculty members to achieve those virtues. He also urged the faculty members to uphold quality education at any cost.

A total of 41 full time faculty members joined in different faculties of Daffodil International University in this semester.

As a part of Academic Social Responsibility (ASR), Daffodil International University organized a two day long ‘Summer Camp’ from May 10-12, 2013 at Begum Sufia Model High School, Kaliakoir, Gazipur.

The Camp included community meetings, yard meetings (Uthan Boithak), workshops, Motivation of Social values, Scouting, lectures on effective use of ICT and communication for development and power point presentation for School and College Students on Education system of DIU to create awareness for higher education among the students.

A total of ten students from the Department of Law and Department of Real Estate of Daffodil International University conducted the Summer Camp lead by Khandker Dider-us-Salam, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Law of Daffodil International University.

The function was addressed by Md Abdur Razzak, Principal, Habez Uddin Sarkar College, Ms. Jesmin Akter, Principal,Boroibari AKU Institute and College and Md. Ataur Rahman, Head Master, Begum Sufia Model High School, Kaliakoir , Gazipur.

About 600 Students from different schools and colleges of Gazipur attended the program. A Quiz competition was also arranged for the students and distributed prizes among the winners which facilitated by Amlan Kishore Moon, Asst. Officer of DIU.

DIU observed ‘Amar Ekushey’ and International Mother Language Day 2013 at Permanent Campus

With great enthusiasm and due respect, Daffodil International University observed 21st February the ‘Amar Ekushey’ and International Mother Language Day and paid tribute the martyrs of the language movement. To mark ‘Amar Ekushey’, the Language Martyrs Day and International Mother Language Day, Daffodil International University chalked out elaborate program including rally, placing floral wreaths to central shaheed minar and discussion session and cultural program at permanent campus of the university at Ashulia. Prof. Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil Intrnational Univerity was present in the program as the chief guest while Emeritus Professor Dr. Aminul Islam was present as the chief guest.

Early in the morning the students, teachers, Air Rover scouts and officers of the university brought out a rally from the academic building to Central Sheed Minar of the  permanent campus and paid tribute through placing floral wreaths to the martyrs of historic Language movement who sacrificed their lives for the recognition of Bangla as one of the state language of erstwhile Pakistan in 1952. The rally was led by Prof. Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman,Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University.

Presided over by Dr. Mostafa Kamal, Director of Permanent campus the discussion session was also attended by Prof. Dr. S. M.
