The orientation program for the newly enrolled undergraduate students of Summer – 2013 semester of Daffodil International University was held today on May 22, 2013 at DIU Auditorium. Professor Dr. Lutfar Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, Daffodil International University was present as the chief guest at the orientation program. The orientation function was addressed by Professor Dr. Aminul Islam, Emeritus Professor, Prof. Dr. M. Mizanur Rahamn, Treasurer, Prof. Dr. Zakir Hossain, Director of Studies, Prof. Rafiqul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics, Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Rahaman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, Prof. Dr. Golam Mowla Choudhury, Controller of Exam & Proctor, Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director ( Student Affairs) of Daffodil International University. The function was conducted by Mr. Amlan Kishore Moon, Assistant Officer, CDC and Ms. Fahmi Hassan, Students Associate of Directorate of Student’s Affairs.

Addressing as chief guest, Professor Dr. Lutfar Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, Daffodil International University, urged the newly enrolled students to make the best use of the resources provided by the university and make them fit to face the challenges of the 21st century.

He said that Daffodil International University is doing well in all respects. Commitment, transparency and quality of education made the university renowned. DIU provides its students with many facilities to pursue their studies and hone their skills.

Urging the students to be an ideal human being he said that three major things – discipline, honesty and quality can make life successful and to be an ideal citizen of the country he advised the students to achieve these virtues.

Founder Vice Chancellor and Emeritus Professor Dr. Aminul Islam said, Education is indispensable and of vital importance for the development of a country and the objective of higher education is primarily to prepare an individual as a knowledgeable skilled person who can apply his knowledge for our socio-economic development and provide leadership in a required sector. He also said, we can free ourselves from poverty, hunger, disease and ignorance, if you – every one of you, young men and women- apply yourselves to it with all your heart, soul and body.

The Orientation Program included introduction session, presentation session, briefing session and cultural session. Earlier the newly enrolled students were welcomed with a rose and tuberose. A cultural program was performed by the students of DIU Cultural Club.
