Daffodil International University (DIU) has taken the initiative to support establishing School of Engineering in Nigeria and signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Al-Qalam University, Katsina (AUK). With a view to launching engineering school, Professor Shehu Garki Ado, Vice Chancellor, AUK along with Alhaji Muhammad Lawal Lamido, Director, Academic Planning have paid a visit to Daffodil International University. The AUK delegation visited Software Engineering (SWE) & Textile Engineering (TE) Lab of DIU as a part of physical verification. Apart from the visits, they took part several meetings with SWE, TE & MPH departments of DIU.

AUK has signed agreements with the Department of Software Engineering, Textile Engineering & Master of Public Health (MPH) in a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signing ceremony held on December 13, 2018 at the Milanayaton 71 of the university. Professor Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, PhD, Vice Chancellor of DIU & Professor Shehu Garki Ado, Honorable Vice Chancellor of AUK signed on behalf of the respective organizations in presence of Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, DIU & all Deans as well as Heads. 


This is the first any Bangladeshi universities who have signed this MoA for the establishment of academic cooperation in Nigeria. Under the agreement, DIU will extend its cooperation in the development of Software, Textile & Public Health education in Nigeria.

Al-Qalam University Katsina (AUK) is one of the first Islamic University in Nigeria come into been in January 2005. Currently, the university is providing education in the area of Humanities and Sciences.
