Meghla Akhter Mitu, student of Department of English and Aftab Hossain, Lecturer, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Daffodil International University took part at the biggest Asia Summer Program (ASP) 2019 hosted in Petra Christian University, Indonesia during 1 to 19 July 2019. The ASP is fully initiated and supported by the Asian University Presidents Forum (AUPF) where more than 150 students and teachers from all around Asia from around 18 countries including Bangladesh attended this summer program. DIU is the only institution from Bangladesh actively taking part in ASP every year.

Mr. Aftab Hossain conducted a course on “Introduction to Media and Communication Studies” for the ASP 2019 participants. Ms. Meghla complete 2 academic courses of total 4 credits related to Entrepreneurial Leadership and Major Issues in South East Asia. Apart from academic classes, the participants were engaged in different social activities, talent show, sports, city trips, visit to Mount Bromo, etc.

Prof Dr. S. M. Mahbubul Haque Majumder, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Daffodil International University (DIU) and Convener of AUPF 2019 along with Syed Raihan-Ul-Islam, Assistant Director of International Affairs also attended in the Opening Ceremony of ASP 2019 on behalf of DIU. The Asia Summer Program (ASP) is a three-week credit-based program offering the innovative prospect of Asia. It is designed as global get together for the students, with the aim of building Cross-culture communication, Personal soft skill development, Confidence building, Career enhancement as well as mutual friendship among the participating countries.
