DIU Delegation attended 7th ASEF Rectors’ Conference and Students’ Forum in Romania

Mohamed Emran Hossain, Director (Administration) and Member Board of Trustees along with Syed Raihan-Ul-Islam, Assistant Director of International Affairs of Daffodil International University (DIU) attended the 7th ASEF Rectors’ Conference and Students’ Forum (ARC7) in Bucharest, Romania from 11–15 May 2019 co-organised by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) and the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA) with the support of the Romanian Ministry of National Education. More than 150 university leaders, experts and policy makers, along with 51 student leaders from the 51 ASEM partner countries participated in the conference.

Mohamed Emran Hossain has represented DIU in the ASEF Rectors’ Conference and actively contributed to the discussions named “ARC7 Rectors’ Policy Recommendations” where Syed Raihan-Ul-Islam, participated as a Rapporteur of Working Group-1 following the topic: Taking Action at Home: SDGs as a Core Pillars of University Governance” in the Students’ Forum.

The 7th ASEF Rectors’ Conference and Students’ Forum invited Asian and European higher education and student leaders to share how their organizations contribute to policy development and take action towards the Agenda 2030 and to get inspiration from their peers’ strategies. Established in 2008, the ASEF Rectors’ Conference and Students’ Forum (ARC) is a multi-stakeholder dialogue platform for university leaders, policy makers and education practitioners, and students to discuss higher education issues and shape the education landscape in Asia and Europe.
