It is our immense pleasure to share the news of the recent achievement of Dr. Farhana Helal Mehtab, Professor of Law & Associate Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, Daffodil International University.  Dr. Mehtab received the “Best Presenter Award” in the NATIONAL SEMINAR ON ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION: A SOCIO LEGAL – ISSUES AND CHALLENGES held on 15th & 16th March, 2019 in the School of Law, IMS Unison University, Dehradun, Uttarkhand, India. The ecstatic two day event witnessed 4 technical sessions and a Skype session, which incorporated intricate recounting of diversified issues.

The seminar was of a multidisciplinary nature where the experts not only from the legal field but also from other disciplines, such as Humanities, Arts, and Management participated to put their heads together in identifying the issues and suggesting the means to overcome the challenges to have a holistic development. Dr. Mehtab’s paper was titled ‘Declaration of Rivers as Legal Persons: A Comparative Study between Bangladesh and Other Countries’ where the co-author was Ali Mashraf, Senior Year Law Student, Department of Law, University of Dhaka and Editor, Bangladesh Law Digest (BDLD).

The inauguration of the National Seminar was preceded by the Chief Guest Prof (Dr.) Ranbir Singh, Vice Chancellor, National Law University, New Delhi. The inaugural ceremony commenced with the overview of the event by Professor Dr. R.N. Sharma, Dean, School of Law, IMS Unison University. In the closing ceremony the key note address was delivered by Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Amar Pal Singh, head-legal studies, Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University.
