In our country level of public understanding of Science and Technology is low, but the willingness to understand and the optimism that science and technology can improve our lives, are very high.

With this idea in mind and to integrate university and society to participate in the development of science and technology Research center for science and information technology of Daffodil International University,  a top ranking technology based private university of Bangladesh, for the first time organized “Science and Technology Fair-2011: Road to Digital Bangladesh from March 31 to April 02, 2011 at university Auditorium.

Four Day long “Science & Technology Fair-2011: Road to Digital Bangladesh concluded today the organized by Faculty of Science and Information Technology of Daffodil International University.

Professor Dr. Abdul Matin Patwari, Fomer Vice Chancellor, Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) were present in the Closing and Award giving ceremony as the chief guest. Presided over by Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board OF Trustees, the function was also addressed by Professor Dr. Aminul Islam, Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University, Prof. Dr. Lutfar Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Science and ICT, Prof. Dr. Golam Maowla Chowdhury, Convener of the Fair, Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Registrar, DIU.

The fair included: Programming Contest, Open Science Olympiad, Scientific Seminar on different science related topics and Meet the leader’s session.

Presided over by Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of trustees, Daffodil International University, Prof. Dr. Abdul Matin Patwary, Former Vice Chancellor, Bangladesh University of Engineering Technology (BUET) was present on the closing session and distributed prizes among the winners. The prize giving ceremony was followed by “Musical Night” where Liza of  DIU BBA Student & Finalist of Close Up -1 2008 rendered songs .

More than 300 students of different schools and college participated in the Science Olympiad. 81 Projects of different schools and colleges of the Capital including different departments of the Faculty of Science and ICT took part in the Fair.
