Daffodil International University celebrated 1st Anniversary of its Permanent Campus

Daffodil International University (DIU) celebrated 1st Anniversary of its permanent Campus on January 15, 2013 through a colorful program at Permanent Campus Auditorium. Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, Daffodil International University was present as the chief guest in the program.Presided over by Dr. Mostafa Kamal, Director of Permanent Campus the function was also addressed by Prof. Dr. Engr. A.K.M. Fazlul Hoque, Registrar, Prof. Dr. Zakir Hossain, Director of Studies & Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics, Dr. S. M. Mahbub-Ul- Haque Majumder, Dean, Faculty of Science and Information Technology and Prof. Dr. Golam Mawola Chowdhury, Proctor and Controller of Examination.

The function was also attended by Professor Abdul Malek of Jahangirnagar University, Prof. Dr. A. N. M. Jahangir Kabir, Academic Director (Uttara Campus), Mr. Anil Chandra Paul, Director of Uttara Campus, Dr. Harun Or Rashid, Deputy Director (Uttara Campus), Mr. Mazbahur Rashid Manik, Sr. Assistant Director (P & D), Mr. Md. Anowar Habib Kazal, Assistant Director (Public Relations), Mr. Md. Abdul Awal, Assistant Director, all the students, officials and faculty members of permanent campus.

Addressing as chief guest, Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, Daffodil International University informed that the management of DIU gradually implementing its Master Plan to become number one private university in the country. He urged the students to make the best use of the resources provided by the university and make them fit to face the challenges of the 21st century.

He said that Daffodil International University is doing well in all respects. Commitment, transparency and quality of education made the university renowned. DIU provides its students with many facilities to pursue their studies and hone their skills. Urging the students to be an ideal human being he said that three major things – discipline, honesty and quality can make life successful. To be an ideal citizen of the country he advised the students to achieve these virtues.

At the beginning the students decorated with colored dress welcomed all with a rose and tuberose. To mark the day and make the 1stAnniversary memorable the distinguished guests and students cut a cake with great enthusiasm and enjoyed the moment. Later a colorful cultural program was performed by the students which drew the attention of the audience. The program was conducted by Rashedul Hasan, a BBA student.

520 Students Received Free Laptop at Daffodil International University

To prepare the students for the 21st century and to adapt them to the latest ICT friendly education which will develop their knowledge, skills and abilities to fit globally, Daffodil International University distributed 520 Laptop at free of cost  among the students in the eighth phase at its continuous process of Laptop Project on January 11, 2014 at DIU Auditorium.

Prof. Dr. Aminul Islam, Founder Vice Chancellor and Emeritus Professor of Daffodil International University was present on the Laptop Distribution Program as the chief guest. Presided over by Prof Dr. Engr. A K M Fazlul Hoque, Registrar, the function was also addressed by Prof. Dr. M. Golam Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, Prof. Dr. Golam Maowla Choudhury, Controller of Examinations, Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director (Student Affairs) and Md. Mohin Chowdhury, Sr. Accounts Officer of Daffodil International University.

Daffodil International University has taken a gigantic initiative of “One Student: One Laptop” program which is one step a head for digital Bangladesh. Every student admitted into Daffodil International University from Summer Semester-2010 and onward is getting a Laptop at free of cost. The Laptop will help the students to equip themselves with proper technical knowledge so that they can survive and secure respectable place in the society. Through this initiative DIU students will get the opportunity to implement digital Bangladesh concept.

Addressing as the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Aminul Islam, Founder Vice Chancellor and Emeritus Professor of Daffodil International University said, It was a long cherished dream of the university authority to implement the project “One Student-One Laptop” with the vision of becoming a Digital University in line with the policy of Digital Bangladesh. He also said, as an essential part and contemporary demand of modern education, DIU has focused on ICT automation facilities for students and employees since its inception. He urged the students to be a potential ICT skilled graduate to contribute to the nation.   It is envisaged that DIU graduates can stand out by competing with other graduates both nationally and globally with their skill that they will acquire from this university. He wished that the initiate to provide a laptop for each student free of cost will be fruitful and successful with the mission of forgoing a digital society that will ensure an ICT driven knowledge- based nation.
