‘70 Years of Universal Declaration of Human Rights’ celebrated by Law Department at Daffodil International University

 

Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Former Chairman, Bangladesh Human Rights Commission and Professor Dr. Father Patrick Gaffney CSC, Vice Chancellor of Notre Dame University along with Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University celebrating the ‘70 years of Universal Declaration of Human Rights’ through cutting cake at Daffodil International University organized by Department of Law.

Department of Law of Daffodil International University (DIU) celebrated the ‘70 years of Universal Declaration of Human Rights’ with flying balloon, cutting cake, debating program, discussion and many other colorful event today on 10 December, 2018 at 71 Milonayoton of the university. Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Former Chairman, Bangladesh Human Rights Commission and Professor Dr. Father Patrick Gaffney CSC, Vice Chancellor of Notre Dame University were present at the program as the Guest of Honors. Presided over by Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University; Professor Dr. A M M Hamidur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities & Social Science, Md. Riaduzzaman, Head, Department of Law also addressed in the program. The program was conducted by Professor Dr. Farhana Helal Mehtab, Associate Dean, Faculty of Humanities & Social Science of DIU.
While addressing Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman said that, human rights are the compilation of equality, dignity and social justice. For this three characteristics people of Bangladesh were gone into freedom fight. So, if we want to conduct our state in right track, we should always keep in mind these three fundamental topics.
Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman said, it’s not enough to screaming or memorizing the human rights law. We have to implement it. And for doing thus, as a law student you have to increase collaboration with mass people. Most of people of remote area of our country do not have any knowledge of human right. He urged the students to create awareness about human right among them and  urged to be a human right defender rest of their life.
