An Agreement between Daffodil International University and BBC Media Action was held on 21st March 2012 at DIU conference room. Ms. Catherine McCarthy, Head of Project (English in Action) BBC Media Action, Bangladesh and Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Registrar, Daffodil International University signed the MOU on behalf of their respective organizations. Dr. Binoy Borman, Head, Department of English, Mr. Sayed Mizanur Rahman, Coordinator, Career Development Center, DIU, Mr. Anowar Habib Kazal, Asst. Director (Public Relations), DIU, Ms. Sheemtana Shameem, Project Assistant (English in Action) BBC Media Action, Bangladesh,  Mr.Ahmed  Shamim Ansary, Sr. Administrative Officer, DIU were also present at the signing ceremony.

Through this agreement BBC Media Action and Daffodil International University (DIU) will run 50 English Language Clubs in community level where DIU students will play main role as club leaders. It is mentionable that leaders will be selected from DIU students, who will be utilizing their personal laptops received from the university free of cost already. BBC will produce and supply necessary materials including books together with audio support as required. They will deliver also necessary trainings for trainers (ToT) of NGOs working together where DIU is the only partner from universities here in Bangladesh with BBC. The University will help and support BBC Media Actions Research & Learning Team in conducting any necessary research studies. Daffodil International University will also monitor the success of the English Club initiative and feedback to BBC Media Action. Expected outcome of this partnership is to work together for creating a synergy of English and Technology in reducing poverty.

Career Development Center (CDC) will coordinate the project from DIU and a notice by 29th March 2012 will be served from CDC for selecting effective Club leaders.

Later they made a courtesy visit to Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University and exchanged views for mutual interest.
