The 1^st meeting of the ACM-ICPC 2012 (Association of Computing Machinery- International Collegiate Programming Contest 2012) Asia Regional Dhaka Site was held on May 29, 2012 at Conference Room of Daffodil International University (DIU) Presided over by Prof. Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, DIU.

ACM ICPC Dhaka Regional 2012 will be hosted with prestige and pride of Daffodil International University at Radisson Blue Water Garden Hotel, Dhaka located at the Airport Road within the heart of the Dhaka city on December 08, 2012. An amazing day will shine the shord of the problem solving for all contestants in this fantastic venue.

ACM ICPC is a two-tier contest in the first of which teams from different universities participate in regional contests and the winners of these contest qualify for the World Finals which held at different countries. Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), IBM, Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE), and Baylor University are thrilled with this contest of problem solving which continues to attract the best and brightest students from around the world with 24,915 contestants from 2,070 universities in 88 countries competing these past years in the world finals.

Daffodil International University continuously fosters for quality education and engages students in all co-curricular activities. DIU is regularly organizing National Computer Programming Contest since the very inception of the university and the teams from DIU ranked well in many national and ACM Dhaka regional events. Being one of the fast moving digital universities, DIU is taking different drives for quality teaching, research and quality contestant and programmer developments

At the beginning of the meeting Prof. Dr. Syed Akter Hossain, Professor and CSE, DIU and Director, ACM-ICPC-2012 Asian Regional Dhaka Site delivered a multimedia presentation on his recent participation in World Finals held in Warsaw, Poland, May 14 – 18, 2012 hosted by the University of Warsaw and shared his experience. The meeting expressed their great concern to make the event remarkable in the history of Bangladesh and bring out put in World Finals through thiscontest.

Haque, Chief Coordinator, ACM ICPC Contest Council of Bangladesh and Former Director, ACM-ICPC Dhaka Site. Dr.M . A. Mottalib, Professor and Head, CSE, Islamic Universityof Technology, Dhaka, Prof. Dr. Syed Akter Hossain, Professor and CSE, DIU and Director, ACM-ICPC-2012 Asian Regional Dhaka Site, Mr. Shariar Manjoor, Co-Chair and judging Director of ACM ICPC,
