Focusing the slogan “Apna Majhe Shakti Dhor, Nijere Koro Joy”- a 10 days long DIU National Debate Festival 2012 ended on 14th October 2012 at DIU auditorium with gala events. DIU Debating Club organized this festival in association with Oxfam Bangladesh, Manusher Jonno Foundation and Management of Resource Development Initiative (MRDI). More than 1000participants comprising 150 teams of different public and private universities, college and school from all over the country participated in the festival. In school level Viqarunnese Noon School, College level Notredame College and University level United International University became Champion. Lt. Col. (Retd.) Shawkat Ali, Deputy Speaker of the National Parliament of Bangladesh was present at the closing and award giving ceremony of the festival as Chief Guest and distributed prizes among the winners. Professor Dr. Anisuzzaman, Emeritus Professor of the University of Dhaka, Professor Dr. Aminul Islam, Emeritus Professor of Daffodil International University were present as Special Guest.
