Kurigram is the most clod-stricken area in the northern part of Bangladesh. Most of the people in Kurigram live below the poverty line. The area becomes very foggy in the winter season.Along with poverty winter wretches their condition more. English Department at Daffodil International University distributed warm clothes in Kurigram on 9 January 2011.A fifteen-member team led by Mohammad Rasel Howlader distributed 200 blankets, 100 pairs of trousers, nearly 100 sweaters, and some jackets in Rajarhat Thana. The team went to two villages: Panthapara and Bakshipara in Rajarhat Thana. Warm clothes were distributed among people of different categories: widows, old women, old men, and children under 15 years. Nahid Kaiser and some students of English Department: Zaman Mondol, Jobaida, Habib, Anik, Sharaiar, Shahabuddin were in the organizing committee.
