Mr. Waliur Rahman, Former Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Chairman of Bangladesh Heritage Foundation is  addressing the discussion meeting on 43rd  martyre-dom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day-2018 held at Daffodil International University.  

Daffodil International University (DIU) paid glowing tributes to the country’s founding president and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman marking his 43rd  martyr-dom anniversary and National Mourning Day with due respect recalling the August 15, 1975 carnage, when Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was killed along with most of his family members.  To mark the occasion a discussion meeting followed by a prayer offered for eternal peace of Bangabandhu and his family members, who embraced martyr-dom on August 15, 1975 was offered today on August 14, 2018 seeking eternal peace of the departed souls at the 71 Milonayoton Auditorium of Daffodil International University.

Ambassador Waliur Rahman, Former Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was present as the chief guest in the discussion session. Prof Dr. Yousuf  M. Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University presided over the function. The function was also addressed by Prof. Dr. S. M. Mahabub-Ul –Haque Majumder, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Mr. Hamidul Haque Khan, Treasurer of Daffodil International University also spoke on the occasion. . Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman Raju, Director of Student Affairs conducted the program and Maolana Habibut Rahman offered munajat in the program.

While addressing as the Chief Guest Former Ambassador and Founder Chairman of Bangladesh Heritage Foundation Mr. Waliur Rahman said that it would be the proper way to show respect upon Bangabandhu is to uphold the Bangabandhu’s ideology by heart and do work accordingly and also spread the spirit of Bangabandhu’s ideology among the new generation. The ideology of Bangabandhu is not fully executed, we will have to take initiative for executing Bangabandhu’s ideology if we want to show due respect to him, he added.
Mr. Waliur Rahman said to the new generation that we got freedom from Pakistan which  is now a world famous terrorist country. The total reserve of Pakistan is now only 16 billion dollar while the reserve of Bangladesh is now 23 billion dollar. The export revenue of Pakistan is 20 billion, on the other hand, the export revenue of Bangladesh is 45 billion dollar. These statistics indicates that we are living better from Pakistan. Already we entered into the list of developing country. If Bangabandhu alive, we would reach developed country too earlier.
Mr. Waliur Rahman said present government has executed punishment of 6 Bangabandhu’s killer and rest 4 is under process.

He urged the young generation to be resuscitated with the spirit of Liberation War and engage themselves to the task of materializing Bangabondhu’s dream of building a Golden Bengal turning into strength the grief of the great loss of the Father of the Nation.

The function was attended by all the Head of the Departments and Deans of different Faculties. A Large number of Faculty members, Officers, employees and students were present on the occasion.
